David served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry Non-Commissioned Officer. Since he is a disabled Veteran, he can no longer defend our freedom as an active member of the armed forces, but he can protect our freedoms by serving in the United States Congress.

David attended Washington State University where he studied Business Administration, History, and Political Science. He also studied for his MBA at George Fox University. Until going full-time with the campaign, David worked as a project accountant for an international construction design company.

David resides in Camas, Washington with his wife Megan, son Logan and daughter Madelynn. He has spent part of his life defending freedom abroad. Now he plans to represent America on her home front.

While David is not a professional politician he has worked in or studied politics for more than 20 years. David’s first campaign experience came at the age of nine when he held signs in support of George H. W. Bush outside the election center two doors down from his childhood home. David made the signs from materials he found in the garage and did not tell his parents what he intended to do for fear that they would forbid it.

Since this time, David has studied political theory, helped on both local and national campaigns and worked towards the successful recall of a corrupt Democratic governor in the State of California. In college, David was Capitan of the College Republicans and an officer on the marksmanship club. During his college years David also fought against a local property tax that would have decreased his own tuition with local homeowners picking up the tab.

In an interview David was recently asked about challenging a political incumbent with so much experience.

Americans are sick and tired of “experienced” politicians. They are very good at telling us everything we want to hear, but they never deliver on any promise they make. While I am not new to politics, I am not an experienced politician. I am very proud of that fact. To be honest, I am just as sick and tired of experienced politicians as the rest of America. They have brought us nothing but corruption, burdensome government regulations and increased taxes. I plan to change that by setting a course for our future that puts us back on the path our nation’s founders intended.

In 2010 when Americans from Washington State’s third Congressional district go to the polls, they need to ask themselves two questions.

  1. Is our country better off than it was when the last politician we sent to D.C. took office?
  2. Will the next one be more of the same?

It’s time we ditch the professional politicians. America needs someone in office who mows his own lawn, changes his own oil and balances his own checkbook. We need a common sense American and a U.S. Marine who has proven he knows how to stand his ground against liberty's powerful opponents.

Marine Cpl David William Hedrick is that man.
